Lustrous Sakura Pink Japanese Teapot
This is a lovely Arita ware teapot in a delicate sakura (cherry blossom) pink color. The lid is adorned with a three-dimensional sakura flower which is also the handle for the lid.
The lid has a lustrous shine giving it a luxurious and stylish feel. At Tasei Kiln, two skilled female artisans with over 40 years of experience paint the intricate and graceful patterns, and coat each item with a luster glaze. The glazed surface has a distinct textured glossy glimmer and shines beautifully under light.
The teapot is in a well-rounded and well-balanced shape. The strainer is in a “Sasame” style where the stainer is attached directly to the inside of the teapot. This allows the tea leaves to circulate easily inside the pot, making the tea more fragrant. This type of strainer is especially suitable when brewing high-quality Japanese tea.
